Age Restriction
Our shop sells knives from Japan, and we comply with the Offensive Weapons Act 2019, restricting knife sales to individuals under the age of 18. Mybearhome do not sell knives to anyone under the age of 18.
Starting from 2022, UK laws mandate online retailers to verify customers’ age as over 18 before confirming orders for delivery. When you confirm an order to buy any knife products in our website, you are making legal declaration that you are over 18 years of age when you agree to the terms and conditions during the checkout process.
STEPS TO VERIFY YOUR AGE
When placing an order for any of our kitchen knives, you must confirm you are over the age of 18 by providing your date of birth by clicking the “create an account” box, you will see the birthday field.
If you refuse to provide your DOB or you’re age are under 18 unfortunately we cannot legally send you an age restricted item. Your order will be canceled and refunded. If you have purchased other non-age restricted items in the same order, please note that only the age restricted item would need to be refunded. Sorry for any inconvenience caused and we have to follow the laws.
Upon Delivery
We also use Age Verification services through delivery company such as Royal Mail or DPD for all orders that contain a knife. Packages are marked as unsuitable for individuals under 18. You must prove you are over 18 to receive your shipment by presenting valid identification. .
This is verified by the delivery driver who will require either a passport or driving licence number which they are required to enter into their delivery scanner as evidence of an age check.
If the purchaser fails to confirm their age as over 18, the products, including all items in the package, will not be delivered. In case of repeated delivery failures, items will be returned to us. Orders that cannot be delivered due to Age Verification issues will be canceled, and NO refunds will be issued.
